The emergency clinic that became a dental home. A home that’s quietly becoming a country-wide one.

Clinical Director
Chapter One · Origin
We’d spent weeks converting the Armley building and meant to open quietly on a Monday morning. The signs went up over the weekend, though, with Dr. Chishty’s mobile number on them almost as an afterthought.
The first call came late on the Saturday. A cracked molar, a brazil nut, a car park round the corner. Zain drove in, opened up alone, and worked on the patient with the ceiling lights still half-finished overhead. Pain gone by the early hours. Follow-up booked for the morning. The kettle went on for a second coffee.
Somewhere in the quiet that followed we realised this wouldn’t be a nine-to-five practice. It would be the clinic that was open when everyone else was closed. The phones still ring at all hours. We still pick up.
We noticed something else in those early weeks. The patients we met at their worst moment kept coming back. Not for another emergency — for the rest of it. A cleaning they’d put off for years. A filling they’d been quietly worried about. A smile they’d stopped photographing. Slowly, without planning it, we became their dental home.
Getting someone out of pain is the start of the story. What happens next is where the real work begins.
— Dr. Zain Chishty, Clinical Director
Chapter Two · What matters
The things that separate a dental clinic from a dental home are rarely glamorous. They’re the quiet decisions no-one sees. We make four of them, every day, without compromise.
We don’t settle for whoever’s nearby. We’ve recruited exceptional dentists, hygienists, and specialists from across the UK — implantologists, oral surgeons, restorative clinicians, sedation-trained dentists, cosmetic experts. If someone on our team is doing your treatment, it’s because they are demonstrably excellent at it, not because they happen to be on shift.
Every crown, every implant, every restoration, every prosthetic uses materials from the leading manufacturers in dentistry. We don’t chase the cheapest supplier to protect margin. What goes into your mouth is chosen for how long it will last you, not for what it costs us. This is the easiest place to cut corners in dentistry, and the place we quietly refuse to.
Emergency, sedation, implants, cosmetic, aligners, general dentistry, hygiene, oral surgery, full-mouth restoration. The cases other practices refer out, we handle in-house. One team, one set of notes, one relationship. You don’t have to explain your story twice.
Every treatment we do comes with follow-up appointments at no charge — to check healing, adjust anything that needs it, and answer the questions that only come up after you’ve left the chair. “Has this settled right?” is part of the work. Not a separate invoice.
Chapter Three · Quietly proud
Most clear-aligner pathways in the UK bounce through a lab in another country. A three-week wait. A clinician-who-never-sees-you signing off the plan. Trays that arrive and quietly don’t quite fit.
We got tired of that. So we built our own. UrgentCare Aligners are planned, made, and fitted by our team, in the same building. No three-week wait for a factory. No “it’s being reviewed” delays. If your tray needs adjusting, it’s adjusted that week. If your plan needs rethinking, a real dentist rethinks it — the same one you met at your consultation. Retainers are included.
It’s a small thing that took an unreasonable amount of work. It’s also, in a way, the whole ethos of the practice in miniature: if the version we can buy in isn’t good enough, we’ll build it ourselves.
Chapter Four · From the chair
A smile is hard to describe second-hand. Here are some of the people whose lives changed shape in our practice, telling it themselves.
Chapter Five · The people
Zain co-founded UrgentCare Dental because he kept seeing the same problem: patients in real pain, unable to get seen anywhere. An emergency clinic was the obvious answer. A dental home was the one that emerged.
Today he leads a team of clinicians across Leeds, Manchester — and soon Bradford and central Manchester — with specialisms in implant dentistry, restorative work, and complex cases. He personally oversees every treatment plan and reviews every piece of clinical content that goes out under our name.
When he isn’t at the chair, he’s usually at a CPD course, a kitchen-table meeting with the team, or the lab, muttering at a tray that isn’t quite right yet.
· The wider team
Hand-picked from across the country — each with a specialism, each with a chair of their own, each someone we’d send our own family to.

We built the flagship in Leeds. Manchester followed soon after. Two more practices are underway right now — and there will be more after those. Not fast. Not loudly. Just steadily, one city at a time.
Where it all started. The Whitehall Estate building Zain converted himself. CQC-registered. The practice that answered Terry’s call.
Our second clinic, opened shortly after Leeds. Same ethos, same clinicians, same 24/7 phones, same refusal to cut corners.
Currently under build. A full-service practice with emergency, cosmetic, and restorative under one roof. Watch this space.
Our second Manchester site, right in the heart of the city. So central Manchester has a UrgentCare Dental chair that’s genuinely walkable.
